Developer Note #4
Hello, Summoners! This is PD Leo!
We've prepared one more Developer's Note before the 1.8 Update!
I'll keep making the effort to meet you more often and share what's going on..
Have you missed the earlier Developer Notes? Don't worry—I've got the links ready.
If you haven't seen them yet, check them out now!
◆ Since the Last Dev Note
We've received feedback asking us to “make Champion stats clearer.” When it's crucial for deciding whether to develop a Champion, we do our best to provide the necessary details. However, if we include every stat, it can end up overwhelming you with too much information—and there's also the limitation of UI space to consider. That said, we realize the information may have felt a bit too minimal. We'll work on finding a better balance and improving how we present it.
Event Difficulty Issues
I mentioned this briefly in Developer Note #1, but now, with data analysis, we'll be making some adjustments to several events.
Ten-Tastic Minions Event
Originally, we expected players to score around 400–450 points per run. Our calculation was that you would receive a guaranteed 400 Minion Medals, plus about 400 more from score-based rewards, for a total of roughly 800 Medals each time. However, the actual data showed that most players were earning between 650–750 Medals.
We believed the challenge was achievable, but the numbers proved it was tougher than we intended.
To better match our original balance, we've decided to increase the base reward by 25%, raising it from 400 to 500 Medals per run.
Gat Maker Event
Launching alongside the Saja Reaper Events, the Gat Maker is similar to the Magic Herb Garden event. You put in a Thread, wait a certain amount of time, and a Gat is crafted. Selling the Gat to other players earns you Old Coins, which you can exchange for rewards.
However, the data showed that far fewer Old Coins were being earned through Threads than we expected. In other words, the loop of “acquire Thread → craft Gat → sell Gat → get Old Coins” wasn't flowing as intended.
So we're making improvements. The crafting time for White and Green Threads has been reduced from 30 minutes to 15 minutes, and for Blue Thread from 60 minutes to 30 minutes. Thanks to these changes, Gats can now be crafted even faster than in the Magic Herb Garden event.
Also, for those who find the wait too boring or difficult and just want quick results, we've added a Sweep-style option in the Reward Exchange. There, you can directly trade Thread for Old Coins. You'll receive fewer coins than you normally would, but it's a one-click shortcut for those who prefer speed over process.
As always, please keep sharing your suggestions. We'll review them carefully along with the data to keep improving future events.
◆ Saja Reaper Events
The Saja Reaper is trending lately, isn't it? You can also encounter them in Minion Rumble!
As the translation is in progress, we kindly ask for your understanding that the image has been temporarily replaced with the Korean version.
Here's a sneak peek—two illustrations revealed!
You already know that Co-op Raid is about purging the Corrupted Tumor infecting Yggdrasil.
But perhaps a Summoner's power alone isn't enough. That's why Summoners will be transforming into Saja Reapers in Co-op Raids! (Ah, AD told me to keep that under wraps until the very end, but I just couldn't resist letting you in on the secret. Hopefully he doesn't notice I spilled it...)
So what will Summoners look like once they take on the form of a Saja Reaper in Minion Rumble? And Minions—do they transform too? Curious? All will be revealed in the 1.8 Update!
As the translation is in progress, we kindly ask for your understanding that the image has been temporarily replaced with the Korean version.
These new looks will be available through a special Skin Event. The more Co-op Raids you complete, the more rewards you'll earn, and once you reach 60 runs, you'll unlock a Saja Reaper Skin that can be applied to the Summoner of your choice. To make it clear, the Saja Reaper Skin will not be sold for Karats or through in-app purchases this time—it will be available solely as an event reward. If it ever does become a paid item, it won't be until sometime after the late-September update.
We prepared this with fairness in mind so that all players can enjoy it together, and we look forward to your active participation.
We hope our efforts shine through.
Also, don't miss the Saja Reaper: 14-Day Check-In Calendar rewards—you'll get Magpie, Tiger, and Saja Reaper profiles!
◆ Game Promotion
We often see posts saying, “The game is so fun, but why don't you promote it more?”
The truth is, large-scale promotions can sometimes perform really well, but other times they can fall flat, so we've been careful about how we approach them.
That said, we are continuously running ads through YouTube, Google, Instagram, Kakao, and other platforms.
The thing is, modern ad systems are AI-driven and highly targeted—so if you've already installed the game or if your interests don't match the target genre, the ads might not show up for you at all.
Our goal is steady growth—continuously improving the game, collaborating with the right IPs, and building things up step by step. I believe that a good game will always be recognized by its players and continue to grow. Above all, we want Minion Rumble to be a game you can enjoy for the long run, not just a short-lived service.
And what's the most powerful kind of promotion? Word of mouth! So right now—please, go ahead and tell your friends sitting next to you to install Minion Rumble! (Please!)
Your support really fuels us to keep developing and operating the game. And to make it a little easier to share, here's a special gift: Leo's Special Coupon — [LEOPD100]! Redeem it to receive 10 Champion Cores, essential for Champion Summons.
(Valid until Sep. 3, 11:59 PM UTC)
Use the coupon for yourself, share it with your friends, and let's make Minion Rumble grow even bigger together!
◆ PD Leo's Tip!
I've got two tips for you today!
First—did you know you can equip Champions in any slot, even if it's a different Class?
As the translation is in progress, we kindly ask for your understanding that the image has been temporarily replaced with the Korean version.
Since Yggdrasil greatly increases the “Chance Up: Equipped Champion appears more often” effect, choosing the right Champions for your slots is crucial. Rather than filling the slots with Guardians, try equipping the Champions you really want—this way, you'll enjoy a much more dynamic battle experience.
Second—how often do you use the Lord's Gear Set?
As the translation is in progress, we kindly ask for your understanding that the image has been temporarily replaced with the Korean version.
With 1.8 making Minions stronger, the Lord's Set was designed to work perfectly with Minion builds. I know Mother Nature's Set is currently popular for keeping Champions alive, but if you have the resources, I recommend giving the Lord's Set a try too.
That's all for today. As always, thank you for taking the time to read through this long note!
