Developer Note #2
Hello, Summoners!
PD Leo here and I'm back to give you another update and share how things are going!
I want to thank you for the warm response to my very first dev note!
Your support really motivates us. I'll keep communicating often and keep working hard to make Minion Rumble even more fun!
◆ Since the Last Dev Note
Co-op Raid Excitement
We're grateful for all the excitement around the Co-op Raid! We've been carefully reading your feedback from the comments, Discord, open chat, and Naver Lounge. I'd like to go over a few things we've adjusted and want to clarify.
Gold Dungeon Drop Increase
Gold has always been a common concern, especially in the early chapters. Originally, we planned to solve this with future content rewards, so we didn't consider raising Gold Dungeon drops.
But! Since Gold Dungeons are the main source of gold—and so many of you kept bringing it up—we've decided to significantly increase the drops in the 1.8 update. In particular, early-game chapters will see about double the gold to make progression smoother.
More Use for S-tier Gear
Many of you wanted better uses for S-tier Gear. While it can be used as a fusion material, we felt it deserved a more meaningful role. That's why we're introducing the Dragon Statue, a new mode that will be available along with the Co-op Raid.
[Dragon Statues] are powered by Sparkles, which can be obtained by scrapping Gear. There are three Dragon Statues—Destroyer Dragon, Protector Dragon, and Life Dragon. Each one boosts stats for Minions, Champions, or Summoners.
As the translation is in progress, we kindly ask for your understanding that the image has been temporarily replaced with the Korean version.
To level up Dragon Statues beyond certain points, you'll need special Sparks that can only be obtained from scrapping S-tier Gear. As shown below, scrapping regular Gear gives you normal Sparkles, while scrapping S-tier Gear grants special Sparkles that match the Gear's grade.
As the translation is in progress, we kindly ask for your understanding that the image has been temporarily replaced with the Korean version.
We hope this system gives all your saved-up S-tier Gear a new and valuable purpose.
Zanmang Loopy Crossover Gear
We've seen requests for Zanmang Loopy or Zanmang Loopy gear to return after the crossover. Unfortunately, as many of you guessed, crossover items are limited edition—our contract with Zanmang Loopy doesn't allow us to re-release them after the event ends. We know it's disappointing, but we wanted to clarify this point clearly.
◆ Introducing Relics
One of our ongoing challenges is how to make battles more fun.
Minion Rumble already has roguelite elements. As you level up in battles, you can select different cards to build your own skill tree. We intentionally kept the number of cards limited to avoid overwhelming complexity, but this also made the tree-building feel a bit shallow for some players.
To solve this, we're adding the Relic System.
Relics are special cards that will appear at certain levels, different from the usual ones. These Relic cards come in four types—Common, Minions, Champions, and Summoner.
They are much stronger than normal cards, letting you shape your strategy in powerful new ways.
Examples include:
- Minions enter Berserk Mode, letting them carry fights on their own.
- Reduce Summoner HP but massively boost Champions/Minions' damage for an aggressive build.
- A Dragon that breathes fire every 45 seconds to cover weaker damage.
- Summoner provokes, reducing damage taken by 95% and acting as a tank.
We've included a couple of preview screenshots to show some Relics in development—please look forward to them!
As the translation is in progress, we kindly ask for your understanding that the image has been temporarily replaced with the Korean version.
◆ Buffing the Minion Tree
Many players have said that in higher chapters—even as early as Chapter 10—the Champion and Summoner cards feel much stronger than Minion cards.
And since the game is called Minion Rumble, that didn't feel right.
So we've given Minions a big upgrade:
- Minions will no longer disappear over time. You've probably thought, ‘No matter how hard I work, my Minions just disappear even if they weren't defeated. That's not fair.' We've heard your cries.
And, they will no longer disappear.
- The Sacrifice card restriction will also be gone. As you know, in order to build the Summoner skill tree, the Sacrifice card is essential, which limits you to 10 Minions. That meant once you picked it, you couldn't add more Minions—a frustrating drawback.
The restriction will be gone. The ATK bonus per Minion will still apply, but instead of a hard Minion limit, it will have a maximum cap for the ATK buff.
- We're also adding a new card that spawns a set number of Minions every 10 seconds. This will replace the old card effect where Minions were only added by picking up Minion items in Boss zones. With this change, Minions will automatically spawn over time, helping prevent situations where losing all your Minions at once in a boss fight makes it impossible to win.
- As mentioned earlier, the Relic system will also feature powerful Minion-specific cards designed to synergize with the newly updated Minion cards.
- In addition, Minion Collection effects have been streamlined by combining fragmented bonuses into unified effects. As an example, Greater Minions' ATK bonus will be replaced with an ATK boost for all Minions.
- In the Minion Collection, stat bonuses are currently only granted at certain milestones—such as 3 yellow stars or 3 red stars for Common and Rare grades. With the upcoming update, every stage of progression will provide stat bonuses.
Living up to its name, Minion Rumble will be a game where your loyal legion of Minions is always with you. (The Co-op Raid and Dragon Statue will be great additions in 1.8, but what I'm most excited for is the synergy between Minion upgrades and Relic cards. Testing it has been a blast—and commanding a Minion swarm is insanely fun, haha. And with the Lord's Gear set on top? Heh… you'll see. 😉)
◆ PD Leo's Tip!
Today's tip is about the Yggdrasil.
Have you ever come across the “Chance Up: Equipped Champion appears more often” option in the Sunlight Branches?
As the translation is in progress, we kindly ask for your understanding that the image has been temporarily replaced with the Korean version.
Have you ever come across the “Chance Up: Equipped Champion appears more often” option in the Sunlight Branches?
It's available very early on. Equipping it raises the drop rate of your selected Champion card to as high as 97%. And that's not all—Yggdrasil offers plenty of other guaranteed perks you won't want to miss. But surprisingly, our data shows many players aren't taking advantage of it. Please don't skip it, even if the Main Challenge feels tedious—growing the Yggdrasil is absolutely essential for your progress.
◆ Sneak Peek
Here's a teaser screenshot—an Ice Cream Shop... and the Saja Reaper?!

That's all for today. I'll be back again soon with more updates. If you enjoyed this dev note, please leave a like or a kind comment—it really lifts the team's spirits. Thank you!
