 --

One rainy day, Rei lay down to sleep. She was a little girl who stood out starkly from the other villagers; viewed as an oddity due to her behavior and appearance—specifically her long platinum hair, a rarity in that village, and her pale, cool-toned skin, a result of her frail health. Her red eyes, above all, seemed to seal her fate, leading to a childhood plagued by daily conflicts with neighbors who branded her a vampire. Whenever the little girl stepped out for fresh air and to feel the sun on her skin, she would often find herself in pain, "punished" by stones thrown at her by other children who cared nothing for her suffering. Amidst all this, Rei often wished the night would never end, cherishing the peace she found in her enchanting dreams. That night was no exception, yet something changed; she realized her dream was different. On this particular night, she was trapped in a horrible nightmare—wandering a dark path, fleeing in terror from the very monsters found in legends. Silence reigned, broken only by the sound of water beneath her feet. She felt lost, with fear dogging her every step. Then, in a sudden fit of paranoia, she sprinted along the long path, convinced something was chasing her; with her eyes squeezed shut, she could see nothing of what lay ahead. It was while wishing for help within her own dreams that she accidentally tripped over her own feet, causing her to fall into water that appeared to have no depth. She kept her eyes tightly shut, afraid of what might happen after such a clumsy mishap, but nothing came of it; in fact, the air seemed to grow lighter, and a brightness filtered through her closed eyelids. Then, catching the scent of her favorite sweet, she summoned a sudden burst of courage and slowly opened her eyes.

It was all a blur; a dragon hatchling had appeared in her dreams, gazing at her with the affection she rarely received and treating her as an equal—something many others failed to do. Her mind naturally ran through the letters she had been learning in her private lessons; *Lovel*—that was the name the dragon had chosen for itself after hatching. It glowed like a beautiful little angel, bringing the peace she had been seeking, while also playfully nibbling and tugging at her sleeve as if urging her to rise. "W-What...?" She spoke, not knowing quite how to continue the conversation. "Do not worry, Rei. You are safe now; you will be fine here." The little dragon’s childlike voice rang out calmly, like a musical note; indeed, it soothed her, easing her out of what had felt like a nightmare and quieting her resentments. She realized then that she was protected—chosen to become a tamer despite her youth, her fragility, or her appearance. "You possess a blessing I long to behold..." She looked at the creature in confusion, unable to grasp how a child like her could possibly be blessed. "I-I don't think that—" "Listen... You are special, and I have chosen you as my human partner. I shall guide you toward a pure destiny as part of our bond... Know your place..." From that morning on, she noticed a striking difference in herself; feeling more energetic and filled with a newfound courage, she ventured out early, eager to explore and learn more about the village where she lived. All the while, she could feel Lovel’s light upon her, shielding her from the evils she had once feared; she even found the confidence to stand her ground and argue back against the other children. Rei—once a frail, timid girl—had become someone who took charge of her own life and faced her fears with bravery.

Lovel had simply given her a little nudge…

Lovel is a dragon I created with the concept of a guardian angel in mind; he is a being visible to his owners only through dreams, yet his presence can be felt when he is nearby, instilling confidence and a sense of well-being in those around him.

Lovel features cut-out details symbolizing plates of refined gold, a motif echoed in the halo above his head and the zipper on his chest. She has two tails that generally come together to form a shape very much like a heart, symbolizing her breed's purpose, which has always focused on loving, protecting, and guiding.

The crystal on his chest seals away a vast number of nightmares—entities he controls to communicate and warn of dangers he foresees in his tamer's future. However, I also designed a "dead form" for him, which may or may not be included depending on the choice made.

That’s all I have to say, but if anything was hard to understand, I should remind you that it was all translated by a machine translator.

Anyway, thanks for your attention; this was truly one of the dragons I’ve made that I liked the most. >:D
