Asteria | Light, Shadow | Dead Stars Dragon |

The egg shines softly as if lit by distant stars.
Reflected in its shell are galaxies that do not exist anymore.

This newborn dragon is covered in soft feathers that are untainted by shadows,
for they have a glow of their own.
The dragon covers itself with its wings and its small horns contain the light of dead stars.

This child's eyes show an universe of bygone eras.
Some of the soft feathers start to fall from its tail,
revealing the beautiful visage of long-dead stars.

As this dragon reaches adulthood, more of its skin becomes visible in its tail and underbelly,
revealing a multitude of starts that no longer shine in the nightsky.
Story
On a moonles night, when the stars shine the brightest, by a placid lake that reflects the firmament,
an egg faintly glows with borrowed starlight.
As it opens its eyes, they are as beautiful as the night sky, but they don not show all of the same stars.
When it hatches, the newborn dragon is covered in soft down feathers that shine like a white dwarf star.
Feeding on the night dew and the blooms of white nocturnal flowers, the dragon slowly grows,
absorbing the faint glow of long-dead stars.
As it matures, this dragon loses some of its soft feathers,
revealing to those below a beautiful collection of dead stars.
"Some say when a dragon dies, a star is born. Some say it's the opposite."
Asteria is a dragon inspired by the concept of the dead stars we still see in our night sky, kinda like phantom starlight,
and the visual of supernovas and white dwarf stars.
I just love soft blue tones and stars and the night sky, so I made my ideal dragon ( ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ )
Some extra stuff:

The Undead form would be a white dwarf star for hatch and hatchling and a supernova for adult,
but I didn't have time to draw the supernova, since i had so much trouble with the writing.
Just an extra drawing of the fluff noodle.
Other ideas:
I was going to give it ribbons, but I couldn't make it work too well.
Maybe I'll enter it on the next creator dragon.
