Hephaes had been busy to the point of dizziness. A recent earthquake had toppled many houses, and the villagers needed new ironware to rebuild their lives. So, it volunteered to forge household items for them, free of charge. Just then, an unsigned letter arrived, requesting a sword forged from light. Without a moment's hesitation, Hephaes crafted the sword with the same care it gave to the villagers' requests. Only when it set down the hammer after finishing the blade did it realize it had no idea who to deliver it to.
"Since they managed to send the letter, they'll probably come to collect it themselves, right?" Hephaes thought, picking up its hammer again to mend the villagers' pots. Lost in the work, it forgot the time, laboring non-stop for three days without sleep. When it finally snapped back to awareness, it had dozed off and bumped its head on the anvil.
"My, it seems my timing isn't the best," said a voice from the doorway. A dragon radiating light stood there, its glow momentarily blinding the just-awoken Hephaes. Rubbing its eyes, Hephaes realized it was the God Dragon and scrambled to its feet in fright, promptly hitting its head on a pot hanging overhead.

The God Dragon examined the sword and smiled with satisfaction. "Truly worthy of being the most renowned blacksmith around. Though... is this little iron knife a free gift?"
Snapped out of its pride by the compliment, Hephaes' gaze darted to the small, blunt knife now also in the God Dragon's hand. "Ah! That's not— That's a toy knife a village child asked me to make... How did it get mixed in?" Hephaes took the knife back, its voice trailing off into a mumble.
"You really are a fine blacksmith," the God Dragon chuckled. Setting down a bag of gold coins and bidding Hephaes a simple "Good night," it departed, leaving the blacksmith standing there, replaying its blunder.
