혜성 드래곤의 전설

자정이 되었는데, 용이 잠을 자려고 동굴에 들어가려던 참이었습니다. 용은 밤하늘을 올려다보며 불의 흔적과 함께 하늘에서 떨어지는 거대한 바위를 발견했습니다. 깨달음이 용을 강타했습니다. 그 물체는 바위가 아니었습니다. 그것은 운석이었고, 그것을 향해 곧장 향하고 있었습니다! 겁에 질린 용은 날개로 몸을 가리고 눈을 감은 채 충격이 자신에게 닿기를 기다렸다.

갑자기 운석이 불꽃을 일으키며 산산조각이 났습니다. 천천히 눈을 뜬 용은 그 앞에 아름다운 알이 있는 것을 보았습니다. 경외감에 빠진 용은 섬세한 알을 집어 달빛을 향해 들어올렸습니다. 그 알은 밤하늘의 색깔과 일치했고 그 주위를 돌고 있는 작은 혜성을 갖고 있었습니다.

“와, 어디서 오셨어요? 나는 당신 같은 사람을 본 적이 없습니다." 용은 알을 보고 놀라며 말했습니다. 그 질문에 대답이라도 하듯 하늘에서 거대하고 빛나는 금반지가 나타났고, 그 속에서 신비한 용이 나왔다. 신비한 용은 용의 세 배나 되는 크기에 밝은 청록색 불꽃으로 둘러싸여 있었습니다.

신비한 용은 용의 눈에 담긴 두려움을 알아채고 몸을 굽혀 침착하게 설명했습니다. "안녕하세요. 저는 혜성 드래곤 보이드입니다. 걱정하지 마세요. 나는 당신을 해치려고 여기 있는 것이 아닙니다. 하지만 당신은 내 알을 쥐고 있는 것 같습니다." 발톱에 걸린 알을 보며 용은 "아, 저 알은 네 거야!"라고 말을 더듬었습니다. 미안해요. 운석이 저를 향해 날아오더니 갑자기 부서져서 당신의 알이 드러났어요.

그 말을 들은 보이드는 미소를 지으며 고개를 저었다. “아니요, 내 알은 그 운석에서 나온 것이 아닙니다. 운석이 여러분의 행성에 충돌하는 것을 막기 위해 운석을 파괴한 것은 바로 나였습니다. 그런데 그 과정에서 실수로 계란을 떨어뜨렸어요. 운 좋게도 내 알 주변의 혜성이 알이 깨지는 것을 막아줬어요." 그는 알 주위를 도는 작은 혜성에 고개를 끄덕이고 용에게서 알을 빼앗았습니다.

보이드는 날개를 펼치며 말했다. “오래 머물지 못해서 미안해요. 나에게는 지켜야 할 다른 행성이 있다. 내 알을 잘 돌봐주셔서 감사합니다." 용이 대답하기도 전에 공허가 황금반지와 함께 사라졌습니다.

용이 밤하늘을 올려다보자 별들 사이로 용의 실루엣이 보였고, 이어 혜성의 희미한 빛이 보였다. 그래서 드래곤들은 밤하늘을 가로지르는 혜성을 볼 때마다 위험하고 강력한 운석으로부터 자신의 행성을 지켰던 혜성 드래곤의 전설을 기억하게 될 것입니다.

Story: The legend of the Comet-gon

It was midnight, and a dragon was about to enter its cave to sleep. As it looked up at the night sky, it noticed a huge rock with a trail of fire behind it falling from the sky. Realization struck it. The object was not a rock. It was a meteorite, and it was heading straight towards it! Frightened, the dragon covered its body with its wings and shut its eyes, waiting for the impact to strike it.

Suddenly, the meteorite burst into flames and broke into pieces. Slowly opening its eyes, the dragon saw a beautiful egg in front of it. In awe, the dragon picked up the delicate egg and held it up towards the moonlight. The egg matched the color of the night sky and had a small comet circling around it.

“Wow, where do you come from? “I have never seen anything like you.” The dragon spoke as it marveled at the egg. As if answering the question, a huge glowing golden ring appeared from the sky, and a mysterious dragon stepped out of it. The mysterious dragon was three times the size of the dragon, and was surrounded by bright turquoise flames.

Noticing the fear in the dragon's eyes, the mysterious dragon bowed and calmly explained, “Greetings. I am Void the Comet-gon. Don't worry, I am not here to harm you. However, I do notice that you are holding my egg.” Glancing at the egg in its claws, the dragon stuttered, “Oh, the egg is yours! Sorry, I wasn't aware of that. Just-just now there was a meteorite heading towards me, but it suddenly burst into pieces and revealed your egg. I’m really sorry!”

Hearing this, Void let out a hearty laugh and shook his head, “No, my egg did not come from the meteorite. I was the one who destroyed the meteorite to prevent it from hitting your planet. However, I may have accidentally dropped my egg in the process. Thankfully, the comet around my egg has protected it from cracking." Void nodded at the small comet orbiting his egg as he took it back from the dragon.

Spreading his wings, Void stated, “ I'm sorry I can't stay for long. I have planets I have to protect. Thank you for taking care of my egg." Before the dragon could reply, Void had vanished together with the golden ring.

As the dragon looked back up at the night sky, it could see the silhouette of a dragon in the stars, followed by the faint glow of a comet. Thus, whenever dragons see a comet shooting across the night sky, they will remember the legend of a Comet-gon who has protected their planet from a dangerous and powerful meteorite.
