Developer Note 2025.07.18 – August Update and Synthesis System Overhaul
Hello, Tamers who love Dragon Village Collection.
This is S, Director of Dragon Village Collection.
Today, we’d like to share an overview of the August update and go into detail about the upcoming changes to the synthesis system.
First, we’d like to introduce one of the key features in the August 5 (Tue) update: the overhaul of the Tamer License Promotion System.
The license system is a level-like system that reflects a Tamer’s collection status based on the number of dragons owned.
However, since the current system allows promotion simply by collecting a large number of dragons, there has been a limit to how much depth and variety it offers.
After much discussion, we decided to rework the system to bring more diverse and meaningful collection experiences to our Tamers.
We’re now preparing to change the promotion condition for the license from the number of adult dragons to a new point-based system called Collection Score, so that your license holds even greater value.
Collection Score is a new point system that reflects all activities related to collecting dragons.
You will earn points when you acquire a new dragon, unlock a new form or personality, obtain a new special evolution form, or complete certain achievements.
We spent a long time considering this, and we believe this new system will make Dragon Village Collection a much more enjoyable and meaningful experience for all Tamers.
The Tamer License promotion criteria will change with the 08.05 (Tue) update.
You’ll be able to check your new Collection Score and license rank when you log in that day.
Some Tamers may see their license ranks change according to the new system, but we’ll balance it carefully to ensure minimal inconvenience for everyone.
In addition, a new rank above Legend will be added to provide further motivation for collection, so please look forward to it.

Next, we’d like to talk about the “Synthesis System Overhaul” scheduled for the 08.19 (Tue) update.
In this overhaul, we will introduce a ceiling system.
While the ceiling system is an effective way to lower the entry barrier, it’s also a highly sensitive change.
Based on feedback from previous Developer Notes, we understand and empathize with concerns from Tamers who’ve already invested greatly in promoting dragons under the current system.
Therefore, we plan to reference the average cost of dragons used in past promotions to set the balance for the ceiling system.
The required value will be slightly higher than the historical average, and the ceiling will ensure guaranteed success for promotions.
Also, to honor the achievements of Tamers who have already reached high ranks, we are preparing rewards for those milestones to be added soon.
We’ll make sure to deliver this improvement without causing undue concern.
Another change coming is that synthesis will no longer consume Dragems.
Many Tamers voiced concerns about the burden of Dragem consumption in synthesis, and we fully agree.
To ease the double burden of needing both a valuable resource like Dragem and two material dragons for each synthesis attempt, we’ve decided to eliminate Dragem usage from the system.
All Dragems used in synthesis prior to the overhaul will be refunded via mailbox on the day of the update.
Lastly, we’re adding new value to the synthesis system.
Synthesis has often lacked visual appeal compared to special evolution, and has become a system only used by a select few.
With the 08.19 (Tue) overhaul, we will introduce “Synthesis Evolution,” a new system.
Synthesis Evolution allows certain synthesized dragons to transform into a new form once they reach a specific rank.
These new designs will offer a different charm compared to special evolution, and like special evolutions, they will be updated gradually.
If a dragon already meets the conditions for synthesis evolution (rank), the transformation will be applied immediately on the day of the overhaul.
Here’s a sneak peek of “Sithael,” a synthesis evolution currently in development for the update.

One more thing—we’d like to introduce the August event.
This will be a new type of event, taking place in a special area accessible only during specific hours.
Meet Alesha, a dragon who soars through space in search of the brightest star, now arriving in your world.
The story follows Alesha—who is captivated by the beautiful Lake Seomhee and forgets her mission—and the Fishing Tail Dragon as they try to return her to where she belongs.
Tamers who actively participate in the event will be able to acquire the event dragon “Alesha” and a new personality, so we hope you’re looking forward to it.

We’re not sure how you’ll feel after reading everything about the August update.
With major changes like the Tamer License and Synthesis System overhauls coming, we wrote this note feeling both anticipation and concern about how Tamers will respond.
The license overhaul was decided after deep consideration, to offer more enjoyable long-term collection experiences. While not much will change for most, we believe those who’ve already reached the Legend rank will find new goals to pursue in Dragon Village Collection.
As for the synthesis system, we share your concerns. But our ultimate goal is to give Tamers the joy of deciding how they want their beloved dragons to transform. Even with the addition of Synthesis Evolution, we will continue to provide updates to existing systems like Special Evolution as well.
We’ll do our best to ensure that all the effort Tamers have put into the game continues to be rewarded with meaningful content.
Looking ahead, we’re also working to enhance achievements, special evolution, synthesis evolution, and new dragons for exploration areas—so there’s always something new for Tamers to enjoy.
Thank you always for your support and love for Dragon Village Collection.
We’ll see you again in the next Developer Note.
*Please note that the unique names shown in this Developer Note may change in the actual update.
