New Player Support Policy Enhancement Notice

Hello, commanders.
This is GM Tia from Light of the Stars.

 

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to many new commanders due to the failure to properly deliver the pre-registration rewards since 05/02. We have heard your voices expressing frustration at losing interest in Light of the Stars from the early stages or struggling in competitive content.

 

As operators, it is our responsibility to always create an environment where the game can be enjoyed, and we understand the importance of revitalizing new players. We all feel a heavy sense of responsibility for the inadequate support provided.

 

We sincerely apologize for the delay in resolving the system error that prevented the rewards from being sent. From the moment you read this announcement, new commanders will be able to receive the existing pre-registration mission completion rewards.

Furthermore, in response to the many commanders' requests for enhanced support for new commanders, we will provide additional support as follows:

※ The Bold sections indicate the new rewards for new commanders.
※ Upon creating a new character, all the above rewards can be collected at once.
※ This new policy for supporting new commanders is not a temporary measure but a permanent one applied throughout the service period.

 

Of course, for new commanders who did not receive the pre-registration rewards, we have conducted an internal investigation and proceeded with individual mail deliveries, including the newly added rewards.

 

<Criteria for New Rewards>
Servers 1-9: Commanders who created new characters from 05/02(KST) to the posting of this announcement.
Server 10: Commanders who created new characters from 05/08(KST) to the posting of this announcement.

Additionally, We are also listening attentively to commanders' voices requesting balanced population support among servers.


To achieve a balanced population among servers for the time being, we will announce the designated servers for new boosting system and additional gifts will be provided to commanders who create characters on the targeted servers during the specified period.

Boosting Period: From the announcement posting date on 05/20(KST), until the regular maintenance on 05/30(KST).

The Light of the Stars operations team has long desired to increase support for new commanders. However, due to the error in sending out the pre-registration rewards, we were concerned that rushing to address this issue might lead to situations where rewards are either sent twice or not sent at all, exacerbating the situation.

 

We apologize for not sharing this situation earlier, as it could have caused even greater confusion. Though we feel it's somewhat late, we are pleased to announce that all errors have now been resolved, allowing us to respond to commanders' voices. The operations team will continue to make ongoing efforts to ensure that new commanders starting their journey in Star Wars can have an enjoyable experience.

In addition, I would like to provide an update on the most significant issue, the restoration of the Google Play Store. As previously announced, due to the Google's advertising and promotion policies, Light of the Stars has been temporarily suspended. It may be hard to believe, but our operation teams were quite taken aback by this unprecedented situation.


Therefore, we ask for your understanding regarding the difficulty in providing any announcements through official communities. To restore the application, our operations team has been actively engaging with Google, providing thorough explanations. While there have been several rounds of discussions, we are currently awaiting Google's final response and restoration measures.

 

Google's response to our explanation request should be received within a maximum of 7 days. Around the may 22nd, we anticipate being able to provide additional guidance on the application restoration to our commanders. Rest assured, Light of the Stars is not considering any service discontinuation, and we are committed to restoring the service to its normal state.


As evidence, both the App Store and One Store[Only in Korea] are operating normally, and preparations for the Korean OST, to be announced by singer Yoo Jung-seok, are underway. Excluding the Google Play Store, which holds the highest market share in South Korea, and continuing the service is conceptually impossible when conducting game business in South Korea.

 

On the contrary, if there were any plans to discontinue the service, logically, Google should be the last to be discontinued. The reason I am expressing this embarrassed sentiment is to reassure our commanders that the situation of service discontinuation they are worried about is not at all what we desire. Both our operations team and commanders share the same goal and direction.

 

We earnestly request your understanding and support. We will compile the results of the Google review and provide further guidance through an announcement by the 22nd.

In addition, we are still receiving reports of numerous lingering issues and we are attentive to all feedback and suggestions provided by commanders who are experiencing inconvenience. Regrettably, the presence of many remaining issues weighs heavily on our hearts.

 

The development and operations teams are eager to swiftly resolve these issues to provide a smoother environment. While our intention is to address all issues at once, we have encountered situations where rushing fixes leads to the emergence of new errors. Therefore, we are taking a gradual approach to resolving issues one by one, albeit at a slower pace.

 

We extend our apologies to all commanders who are experiencing inconvenience during this period of fixes. Once we have validated the reported issues, we will promptly compile and provide further guidance through announcements.

 

We have discussed the inadequacies of our service at length. Despite our embarrassment, we are grateful for the continued trust from many commanders, and we are committed to persevering without losing hope. Moving forward, we will continue to listen to the voices of all commanders and strive to make Light of the Stars a game that is truly enjoyable and comfortable for our beloved commanders.
