EGG

This egg has disorienting colors.

Description: An unusual egg with monochromatic horns that clash starkly with its colorful belly. The shell is very thin and fragile, the dragon inside can be seen if the shell is hit with a bright light.

HATCH
 

This hatchling has a striped tail.

Description: This hatch uses its mesmerizing gaze to lull its prey into a sense of security, giving it the moment it needs to strike. Using this technique, the hatch can survive despite being relatively weak.

HATCHLING

This hatchling has wings that look like glass.

Description: The hatchling has learned how to create minor illusions and now causes scares and pranks with this ability. It is a mischievous dragon that often gets into trouble.

ADULT

This dragon has many different stripes and colors.

Description: The dragon has now mastered its control over illusions and is powerful enough to fool an entire town. Many misleading discoveries have been proven false, and simply work of an Illusion Dragon. They are mischievous and more unhinged than their younger counterparts and can even be dangerous. They are fiercely loyal to their tamers, if not a little difficult to handle.

Story: When the bridge in the main village had broken and fallen into the river, the town had to stop its productivity and handle the situation. Many hours were spent gathering materials and preparing to fix it. When the workers finally got to the site, one of the, stumbled into the broken bridge, only to find themselves standing on air! A giggling Illusion Dragon spiraled out from where it had been hiding in the shadows, the bridge suddenly fixed- except it had never been broken. The Illusion Dragon had fabricated the entire thing. The workers went home grumpy and exhausted, and the dragon flew off elsewhere, ready to cause mischief.

All stages have the male/female color difference, I just only drew the adult version.

I imagine Create Illusion could be a real in-game ability, although I’m not sure what it would do.
