Egg:
This eggs exudes an exotic scent
On occasion, tamers would stumble upon these strange looking eggs becuase of its unusual but sweet scent…however when those same tamers would try to take the egg, they'd have the sudden intuition that this egg is not unsupervised. No one really knows why this feeling like a thousand entities glaring daggers hits tamers like this when they try to care for these eggs, but it hasn't stopped some from trying to hatch it to see what's inside, while others toss the egg back where they found out of superstition. Regardless, the wispy energy swirling around it and the giant berry in its center are very strange indeed.
Hatch:
It's meeting it's ghost friend
It seems with every Aimit that hatches comes a small ghastly wasp called a: “Hagi”. The Hagi follows the dragon everywhere it goes, acting like a servant. The hatch's legs are weak at the moment, but will grow stronger in time. Eating the berries from the hatch might cause mild dizziness.
Hatchling:
It's waiting for an opportunity to strike
As Aimit grows, so does the strength and number of the Hagi that follow and hunt alongside the dragon. Aimit hunt only at night and with its Hagies for humans and even other dragons to use their life force as sustenance. Aimit is able to shape-shift into humans temporarily to trick its prey. Aimit's mane, tail and fetlocks are made up of a shadowy energy and is not actually hair.
Adult:
It offers you a cluster of its berries
The berries have a powerful effect on those who eat them. Aimit lures people and dragons in with its naturally intoxicating aroma, then gets its victims to eat the berries. Anyone who foolishly eats these berries is transformed into another Hagi to serve Aimit for all eternity. These same berries are incredibly valued by the Hagi and serve as an essential source of energy. Aimit will use any means necessary to get others to consume its berries and become its servants...and that includes force. They say that Aimit will help fertilize dead crops back to life by sacrificing one of its Hagi if it trusts its tamer enough.
Dragon story:
“Sweet vengeance”
Tales about Aimit are seldom told. Most believe them to be nothing more than the wild imagination of the author, unaware that the stories are all too true. One such tale goes as follows:
Three travelers hiking up a mountain at dusk came across an peculiar egg nestled away in a small cave covered by leaves and twigs.
“What's this dragon egg suppose to be? I've never seen anything like it!”
Said Henry, the young energetic researcher leading his group through the mountain and the one who discovered the egg.
“Wonder if it's worth anything valuable…”
Said Coco the merchant looking for anything worth some gold on his trip.
“This egg's smell is so nice…maybe it can help create my next perfume?”
Said Fauna the perfumer, eager to get the egg to her perfume lab.
As the three talked about their find and what to do with it, the sound of slow footsteps drawing close halted their thoughts briefly. The three look up to see a tall, dark-haired woman standing at the cave's entrance staring down the travelers.
“What are you children doing on this mountain at a time like this? Run along now…before something comes and finds you.”
The woman walked off without another word, and despite the subtle warning, the three couldn't help themselves and came back the next day to take the egg back to their hometown, each taking turns at studying, evaluating, and testing the egg.
Days passed without anything happening…until the town's doctor was seen bringing an injured woman to the infirmary, all of this being visible from Henry's window. Henry and his other two friends following suit found out that the woman was attacked by a large violent dragon by the mountain the travelers explored not a few days ago. The woman was heavily wounded in her legs and could barely walk.
“T-That dragon…it was terrifying…I can't feel anything in my legs…will I be able to walk again?”
The woman was extremely anxious about everything that had happened to her. Some time later, Henry and his friends came back with a surprise.
“It's not much, but we hope that this egg's sweet scent can calm you down a bit.”
“Oh, thank you kind souls.”
The woman smiled softly, feeling a warmth in her heart from the three's kindness.
A few weeks had passed. The injured woman slowly recovered the strength sapped from her legs and was able to walk a short distance…enough to somehow escape the infirmary, even though that should be impossible for her now.
She knocked on all three of the travelers doors in the dead of night and slipped a note telling Henry, Coco, and Fauna to meet her at the infirmary, with the notes being signed under the doctor's name.
“Hey, why so early in the morning? Couldn't this have waited till tomorrow?”
Coco complained while barely holding his eyes open.
The injured woman sitting in her bed held out a gift with a delectable smell.
“I wanted to thank you three for your kindness all that time ago. I couldn't do that at the time, but now my legs are strong enough to make this delicious berry pie for all of you. My own secret recipe.”
“Aww…you shouldn't have! We were only trying to help…but I also can't say no to good pie.”
Fauna excitedly grabbed a slice and distributed it between Henry and Coco. Everyone dug into their pie slice and was enthralled by its taste.
“Mmm! This is awesome! What's the secret?”
Henry wondered; in love with the pie.
A crooked grin then crossed the woman's face while a pause hit the room.
“…Vengeance…for stealing my egg.”
Without warning, the three were paralyzed and dropped their forks and plates, and soon their bodies dropped to the floor too. Their bodies deteriorated and cracked open with a sickly green glow. A small spirit sprung out from their now-dead corpses. A Hagi, a small but powerful ghost wasp came from these cracks and flew to the woman's side, one for each victim, and at the same time, the woman returned to her original form. She was the dragon that she lied about attacking her, she was Aimit. Her true beauty was illuminated by the glow of moon shining in from the window.
She then ran off, egg in tow, back to her mountain…still not satisfied from her hunt.
Concept art:
As you can see from this kinda sorta lazy concept art, the Hagi also slightly changes its form as the Aimit evolves. Developing more seeds in the stomach and antennae. The Female has orange berries while the Male has yellow berries and the horns are larger. This thing stands like a horse on its hind legs, it's just not shown here that much as I am not good at drawing that. The Korean is probably not perfect as I literally just used Google translate for it. Almost forgot the mention that the green parts on both Aimit and the Hagies glow.
For any of those wondering, this dragon is inspired from a combination of the “Hagimit tree” (or Cluster fig in english) and a Philippine folklore half-man half-horse abomination called the “Tikbalang”. The Tikbalang is also associated with figs, so that's why there's figs. There is a unique kind of wasp species that is dependent on these cluster figs to be able to breed (that, and I accidentally looked up while researching the hagimit tree that with every fig, there's at least one dead wasp in it…but there's a special substance in the fig that breaks up the wasp body before anyone eating a fig even notices that they're eating wasp as well) disturbing fact aside, that's the reason why there are ghost wasps around the dragon.
