This egg is fluffy to the touch, and is surrounded by star-shaped candy on all sides. Its horns are sensitive, so if they are touched, it will begin to rock back and forth gently. The candy glows faintly, and the glowing gets brighter when the egg is closer to hatching. You will know that the egg is about to hatch when the star-shaped marking in the center beams a bright, white light.

The young hatch has extremely soft and fluffy fur, but its ears and horns are still very small. It has a single candy on its backside that grows slowly as it matures. It spends most of its time asleep, seeming to be storing up a large amount of energy for when it can use its magic. It often dreams about wishes that its tamer may have, hoping to one day grant them. The cloak around its tiny body acts as a blanket, and it will become extremely upset if the cloak is taken away. The hatch will never open their eyes from the moment it hatches to when it matures into a hatchling.

The hatchling stage begins when the star candy dragon grants its first wish. Its eyes open and shine with stardust as it uses its power to grant its tamer their greatest desire. Its ears and horns have now grown slightly, and more candy now makes up its tail as its magic ability increases. The hatchling is still very naïve and frequently becomes overwhelmed with the responsibility of making its tamer happy and granting their wishes. It is also during this stage that the wish candy dragon begins to make an unbreakable bond with its tamer.

While this dragon has been around for thousands of years, it has only had a body for less than five years, so it appears clumsy at times as it adjusts to its new body. It wears the cloak of its first tamer who raised it from an egg.

Wish candy dragons, sometimes referred to as “Konpeidraco,” have the ability to grant wishes to their tamers by plucking the star candy from their tails and imbuing them with the wishes. When the tamer eats the candy, the wish is granted.

This dragon is extremely busy, as it wants to grant as many wishes as it can, and it takes its job very seriously. The only thing it values more than granting wishes is its tamer, who it is fiercely loyal to and will do anything to protect. This unconditional love has to be earned, however;  it is said that tamers with darkness in their hearts will suddenly awaken to their wish candy dragon missing, never to return. To own this dragon is to be selfless and giving on a fundamental level.

Once a wish candy dragon matures into an adult, it is able to grant wishes to people besides just its tamer. Some of these dragons separate from their tamer at this stage if their tamer is not pure of heart, but if they have been treated and raised well, they will continue to stay beside their tamer until the end of their long lives. Its fur has grown out significantly, and the new shape of its horns allows it to channel the wishing magic more easily. It still wears the cloak it was given as a hatch, and will never be seen without it. It can take candy from its tail and freely imbue it with wishes, and the nature of the wish will change the flavor of the candy. Sometimes, it plays pranks on its tamer by letting them eat sour or spicy wish candy.

Story

Once every 7 years, during the darkest night of the year, all of the tamers come together to throw a festival called the Festival of Wishes. During this festival, the tamers wait until the new moon is high in the sky and make wishes on the stars, hoping that one day they will come true. The tamers quickly started to notice that their wishes were being answered one-by-one, and thus, the festival began to pick up traction. The tamers started making candy that was shaped like stars to pass out during the festival, and represent their wishes being granted.

Who was answering the tamer’s wishes every year, however? It was none other than a wishing dragon, made of stardust up in the sky, that looked down on the tamers and smiled when they threw the festival. The dragon granted wishes made by those pure of heart, but it noticed that no one had ever wondered who was fulfilling their desires. Since the dragon had no corporeal form, it was quite lonely up in the stars.

One year during the Festival of Wishes, a lone girl wandered about aimlessly. She had recently lost her mother in a conflict, and her mother’s soul had been absorbed by Maldek in its naivete. She looked down at the star candy in her hands, and wished for a companion who would be a lifelong friend…someone who also felt alone in the world, too.

The wishing dragon up in the sky felt this wish, and was compelled to answer it. The dragon’s soul descended from the sky, and imbued itself within the star candy in the little girl’s hands. The candy shimmered, and then grew into an egg. The girl was startled, but quickly used her blue cloak to keep the egg warm.

Finally, the girl would have a companion who would do anything for her, and the dragon would never be alone again.

7년에 한 번, 일 년 중 가장 어두운 밤에 테이머들이 모두 모여 소원의 축제를 엽니다. 축제가 열리는 동안 테이머들은 초승달이 하늘 높이 떠오를 때까지 기다리며 별들에 소원을 빌었습니다. 물론 그 소원들이 이뤄지기를 바라면서요. 테이머들은 자신들의 소원이 하나씩 이루어지고 있음을 금세 눈치채기 시작했고 축제는 더 활기차지죠. 그래서 테이머들은 축제 동안 소원 성취를 상징하는 별사탕들을 만들기 시작했습니다.

그런데 매년 테이머들의 소원을 들어준 사람은 누구였을까요? 테이머들이 축제를 벌일 때마다 미소를 지으며 그들을 내려다보던 것은 다름 아닌 하늘의 별가루로 만들어진 소원용이었습니다. 용은 순수한 마음을 가진 사람들의 소원을 들어주었지만, 누가 그들의 소원을 들어주는지 궁금해하는 사람은 아무도 없다는 사실을 알아차렸습니다. 용은 육체가 없었기 때문에 별들 속에서는 꽤 외로워했습니다.

어느 해, 소원의 축제가 열리는 동안, 외로운 소녀가 정처 없이 떠돌아다녔습니다. 소녀는 최근 분쟁으로 어머니를 잃었고, 어머니의 영혼은 순진한 말데크에 흡수되었습니다. 그 소녀는 손에 든 별사탕을 내려다보며 자신의 외로움에 공감할 수 있는 평생의 친구를 원했습니다 .

The only distinguishing characteristic between either gender of star candy dragons is the color of the candy they create.
