The Mantis Dragon is a dragon typically found camouflaging among trees. From a young age, it boasted sharpened and foreboding long forearms, protruding outwards and hanging, as if waiting for prey. Once old enough to walk, mantis dragons live a primarily solitary life, their long arms developing so they can hunt in the shadows from a young age.
While friendly when cared for, these dragons tend to enjoy most of their time alone, surveying the area around them. They are frequently seen perched among trees or in other foliage to ensure they do not miss any prey in the area.
(Story): Finding Footing
From birth, Mantis Dragon struggle with carrying the weight of their large forearms, often unable to stand up from birth and mistakenly cutting themselves with the small spikes in their birth. Despite this, Mantis Dragon hatches are often abandoned by their parents at birth, due to the dragons solitary nature. Many are faced with dangerous situations and left to fend for themselves.
“I will persevere!”
Only the hardiest of Mantis Dragons are able to reach an age in which they now have full control over their arms, beginning to hunt and follow in the footsteps of their parents. Their hunting skills are often self taught, and they must fight a lot in order to survive in the wilderness.
Alone in the forest, Mantis Dragons fight determinedly to live, emerging with a sense of pride and exceeding strength.(Body Type): 1.5-1.9m / 60-90kg
