Can we at least get a statement on team status?
DVW ended service on February 28th, 2023
DVNEW ended service on March 24th, 2023
DV2 ended service on May 30th, 2023
When DV2 ended service, it was revealed in an announcement that these terminations were done to make way for Dragon Village Collection, which released in May of 2023.
For 2023, we at Highbrow are developing Dragon Village Collection for selection and focus.
Dragon Village Collection is a game that focuses on the essential fun of Dragon Village, collecting dragons in a rapidly changing gaming market. We are focusing on its development as we believe this is the best way to repay the love of Tamers who have loved the Dragon Village IP for a long time.
As mentioned earlier, unfortunately for the sake of selection and focus, Dragon Village 2's journey over the past 9 years is scheduled to end on May 30, 2023.
Similar to the disappointment of the tamers, we too also have great regret, but we ask for your generous understanding. Please refer to the notice that will be posted later for details regarding the termination of service. We will do our best to develop Dragon Village Collection so that we can grow further as a game developer that does not disappoint the tamers who always support and show great love to Highbrow.
We will always act with an attitude of honest and quick communication.
We will greet you again on May 3, 2023 through Dragon Village Collection, and we ask for your support and participation during the remaining period. Thank you.
You asked a lot from people in your Cafe Naver post. So I think we at least deserve some sort of statement on why the DVC team has been in so much disorder lately. People are going on and on about how you're just looking to induce payment, and the response is always just the same bit about preserving value and game sustainability.
What I want to know is why the team is so often now struggling to update.
I want to know why the event we have now, an event that was pushed back and had half of its content cut, looks like it has gone through development hell and barely made it out alive.
I want to know why the recent maintenance ended up taking three hours, only to come out of it with minor changes that would have taken a single staff member less than ten minutes to make.
I want to know why, ever since late February, the staff has been very selectively answering our posts on the Korean Hive community boards.
I want to know because quite frankly, I am sick and tired of all the discussion revolving around payment inducement and am more worried about the absolute travesty that I've been sitting here watching on the cutting room floor. If you are cutting content because the team is struggling, because you have a new set of employees, are having financial issues – what have you – then that is the answer that you should be giving. We don't need you to keep dodging the question or giving half-answers like “sustainability”.
Tell them why it is not sustainable. Don't sit here in silence and worry about saving face when your reputation for this service is already at rock bottom.
