Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming in the February update for MLB RIVALS!

■ February Update Highlights

- The following key updates are scheduled for February:

* Detailed information on new content and updates will be announced separately on the update day.

* The details listed below are subject to change depending on development progress and testing.

 

1. World Baseball Classic Call-Up Content

- A new World Baseball Classic Call-Up feature will be added, allowing you to directly recruit players who participated in the World Baseball Classic while wearing their national team uniforms.

- Only Special Cards of players who participated in the World Baseball Classic are eligible for World Baseball Classic Call-Up, and World Baseball Classic Call-Up Tickets are required.

- World Baseball Classic Call-Up follows the rules below:

(FA) Prime Card → World Baseball Classic Prime Card

(FA) Signature Card → World Baseball Classic Signature Card

(FA) Signature Black Card → World Baseball Classic Signature Black Card

- When performing a World Baseball Classic Call-Up, any excess Limit Break and Special Training values invested into the material card will be fully refunded.

- In addition, all Skills will be fixed at Gold Tier, S Lv. upon Call-Up. If the player already has Gold Tier S Lv. Skills, those Skills will remain unchanged.

 

2. World Baseball Classic Player Cards

- World Baseball Classic Player Cards will account as Preferred Team Cards regardless of the player’s original team.

- World Baseball Classic Player Cards are classified as Special Cards and share the same rarity structure as existing Special Cards.

- World Baseball Classic Player Cards do not require Limit Break to reach the maximum Upgrade Lv. and can be upgraded up to Lv. 20 upon acquisition or Call-Up.

- World Baseball Classic Player Cards can acquire exclusive Skills, which may appear across all available Skill Slots when using Advanced Skill Change Tickets or Superior Skill Change Tickets.

Examples:

> World Baseball Classic Signature Card: up to 3 World Baseball Classic Tier Skills

> World Baseball Classic Signature Black Card: up to 4 World Baseball Classic Tier Skills

- If the World Baseball Classic Player Card’s team matches your Preferred Team, an additional buff effect will be applied.

- After the World Baseball Classic concludes, additional stat increases will be reflected based on the player’s tournament performance, such as hits, home runs, and strikeouts.

 

3. World Baseball Classic Ambassador

- A World Baseball Classic Ambassador menu will be added under the Ambassador system.

- In the World Baseball Classic Ambassador, you can register World Baseball Classic Player Cards to earn Ultimate Coins and World Baseball Classic Upgrade Material Boxes.

- The World Baseball Classic Ambassador features a total of 20 Contribution Slots, and World Baseball Classic Player Cards of all rarities may be registered.

- Each Contribution Slot has its own unlock condition.

* The amount of Ultimate Coins and Upgrade Material Boxes earned varies depending on the rarity and quantity of registered World Baseball Classic Player Cards.

 

4. First Skill Slot Lock Added for (FA) Signature & Impact Cards

- When changing Skills on (FA) Signature and Impact Cards, a First Skill Slot Lock feature will be added, same as the existing Prime Cards.

 

■ UX Improvements & Others

- The New/Returning User Preferred Team Player Acquisition Event will be improved.

> The rarity of obtainable players will be adjusted. (Updated on Feb. 13, 6:10 AM EST)

- Event Game flow will be improved.

> The number of Balls consumed and rewards earned for the selected difficulty, including Manual Play, will now be displayed.

- Synergy balance will be refined.

> Existing Moment / FA synergies will be separated.

> New World Baseball Classic & FA Card synergies will be added.

- The number of innings in the Amateur Live Match Channel will be adjusted.

> Changed from 3 innings to 2 innings per game.

- The Senior Mission UI will be improved.

- The red dot indicator shown in the Lineup menu for newly created accounts will be removed.

- New no-doubt home run animations will be added for the following players:

Ken Griffey Jr

 

Marcus Semien

 

■ Main Events in February

- The following key events are scheduled for February

1. World Baseball Classic Themed Events

- To celebrate the World Baseball Classic, multiple events will be held during the tournament period, including the World Baseball Classic Ranked Slugger World Championship Event.

* Further details will be announced in a separate notice.

 

■ 24th Live Update Schedule Change

- To ensure a more stable rollout, the 24th Live Update schedule has been adjusted from Feb. 19 to Feb. 26. We appreciate your understanding.

 

In addition to what we've covered, more content will also be included in the January update.
