Developer Note #7

Hello, Summoners!
This is PD Leo!
After the update on Aug. 26, many of you shared kind words about it. Honestly, as we worked on things like Relic Cards, combat improvements, and Minion upgrades, I worried a lot about whether players might dislike the changes. Thankfully, many of you enjoyed them, and our numbers have been looking better as well. The dev team, who practically live on praise, felt so full we couldโve skipped meals.
(Though I hear someone shouting โThatโs a lie!โ in the background...) I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you!!!
(Even overseas players have been sending us praise!!)

Someone left a comment asking, โAre you planning to write up to Developer Note #999?โ Well, I promised myself that Iโd try to keep you informed and connected by writing at least once or twice a week. So here I am, writing late at night again. Getting emotional when writing at this hour... Maybe one day, if the criticism gets too rough, Iโll stop these notes, but for now! Iโll keep at it with full effort.
โ Todayโs Poll
What better way to communicate than through a poll? Not long ago, the Tower of Infinity survey wrapped up with an overwhelming result.
This time, Iโd like to hear your thoughts on two more debatable topics: Events and Summoner balance. Your votes will directly help guide our game development.
Event-related:
Weโve been trying to design events that involve more active control, but some players find them too tiring.
Thatโs why weโve been mixing things up with different styles of events.
Since each event has its own unique flavor, we want to ask which ones you enjoy most so we can decide which to run more often, and also guide the direction of new ones.
Summoner balance-related:
This is a sensitive topic, but hereโs some background. S-tier Summoner, Kain, costs a lot if you want him quickly, but with time, everyone can eventually obtain him.
On the other hand, Zanmang Loopy (the crossover Summoner) is only available for a limited time, so you need to either focus hard during that period or make small purchases to get him.
Our intention was to ensure that, in terms of both time investment and monetary cost, S-tier Summoners would ultimately stand at a higher tier.
That said, we recognize that Zanmang Loopy released stronger than intended, so weโve mentioned buffing Kain to match.
However, thereโs also debate around whether a crossover Summoner should really be weaker than Kain. So weโd like to hear your perspective.
โ Responses to Recent Suggestions
Since weโve been communicating more often lately, it feels like the number of suggestions just keeps growing. Reading through all of them takes quite a bit of time... hahaha. Still, today as always, Iโve gathered up your feedback and will be sharing some replies.
Q. Will Yggdrasil get an update?
- Yes, itโs planned! But not right away. Weโll release it once enough players have reached the necessary progress.
Q. So when is Kainโs buff coming?
- The earliest would be version 1.9. It may take a little more time since balance testing is crucialโwe donโt want to disappoint you.
Q. Is there no way to get Zanmang Loopy Pieces?
- By default, crossover Summoners are designed so that you must collect their Pieces during the event period.
This is tied to IP licensing contracts and also fairnessโmany players understood the โlimitedโ nature before making purchases.
We may consider very rare exceptions, like special reruns or unique events, but itโs a delicate matter and will require careful thought.
Q. Any plans to raise Summoner or Minion Card rates?
- Itโs been discussed, but itโs not currently on our priority list. Weโll consider it further.
Q. Too many Minions on screen make it hard to navigate the map.
- Weโre still figuring out how best to address this issue.
Right now, the screen often gets so crowded during battle that players sometimes assume there are no enemies and move forwardโonly to suddenly die.
That can be really frustrating, especially when youโre carefully controlling your character... Itโs the kind of thing that makes you sigh and instantly tilt.
We implemented contact damage to prevent players from abusing the system by just slipping past enemies without fighting.
However, at higher chapters, enemies become so powerful that this often results in one-hit deaths.
Q. Can you add a feature to enter a chapter number directly to move between chapters?
- Probably not a high priority, but weโll review.
Q. Can you show which Summoner is currently active when summoning Minions?
- Iโm not sure I fully understoodโare you referring to the summoning animation? Please explain in more detail in the comments so we can check.
Thatโs all for today! Next weekโs update is already around the corner.
After the patch, Iโll gather your feedback again and share responses.
Have a great day! And donโt forget to enjoy Minion Rumble with friends and family!
