Extremely shy after hatching, this meekness leads to many of these young dragons being bullied or intimidated by others. They typically prefer being alone and some trainers may catch them humming or singing to themselves when they think no one is listening.

Unlike their youthful counterparts, hatchlings are much more confident, though still distrustful of others. However, they are known to make unexpected acquaintances, that is, with lost souls. Together with these spirits, it creates symphonies that most find haunting and unpleasant, but provide relief and happiness to the spirits.

Adult Melodia does not spare anyone its theatrics, adoring any and all audience willing to lend an ear to its performances. Together with its merry band of spirits, it composes beautiful but melacholic music that can move people to tears. 

Its tail is now set into a golden lyre with strings it can play. Music that comes from Melodia's tail is said to put agitated souls to rest and bring to mind precious memories of loved ones.

Story

A Ballad For All of Thou Fallen

“What is that awful noise?!”

The townspeople are awoken at midnight. The sound of crying children and horrid wailing fill the air, keeping anyone from the very thought of falling asleep again.

Somewhere in the woods, a shrill noise erupts from between gnarled bark. Shadows slither between the trees, gathering, for tonight, there is a grand celebration.

“Pay them, the townspeople, no mind, tonight we shall sing and dance!” Melodia calls, and the horrid sound grows louder and more unpleasant. Birds and creatures alike flee from the forest, even flowers begin to wilt. But there, in the clearing of the woods, lost spirits will get to know joy again.

They wail and vent their frustrations and sorrows, they reminisce and sing of treasured pasts. The night is one of a merriful mourning, a jubilant grieving. When the sun finally rises and Melodia raises its baton, at last, its magnum opus comes to a close.
