The dog dragon gets its power from its collar. The collar allows the dog dragon to be loyal to its tamer. Dragons who have lost their collar lose their power and are unable to be tamed, hiding from any tamer it sees. 
 

the dog dragon wears its collar proudly, the charm shining brightly. The charm has a bone shape etched into it, allowing the dragon to manipulate bones.

the dog dragon uses its power to create its wings, for flight and to fit in with its peers. The power that the charm gives the dragon is akin to telekinesis, but the dog dragon only uses it on things it likes, like bones and tennis balls.

as a hatch, the dragon appears lost without its tamers guidance. Once it gains loyalty to the tamer, it is granted it’s power. Without a tamer to be loyal to, it’s power is much weaker. Dog dragons without tamers can be found roaming village and residential areas for tamers to play and bond with. A dog dragon is very loyal and will do anything to protect its tamer.
