Egg

This Egg is transparent. 

The Egg is heavy and transparent. It is solid with no shapes inside. If the egg is dropped, it may split into fragments that eventually become round and egg-shaped.

Hatch

This Hatch eats glass-making minerals.

The outermost layer of glass cracks and the Hatch comes out. Before then, the shape of the Hatch is invisible. The Hatch eats different minerals to grow its body. Depending on how big its egg was, the Hatch may begin as 10 cm long. It creates its body using the minerals it eats and grows bigger every day. It does not fly.

Hatchling

This Hatchling is solid glass.

The Hatchling's body is harder than the Hatches'. It has grown bigger from the minerals it has eaten and flies to different deserts to look for more minerals. Hatchlings sleep inside of sand dunes and slowly absorb silica from the sand into their body. Hatchlings may stay inside of a dune until they become adults.

Adult

It is a Glass Dragon that has a transparent body made of solid glass.

The minerals it ate as a hatchling determine its exact color and strength. It does not have a mouth and eats by absorbing prey and minerals into its body through its stomach area. The prey and minerals can be seen inside of Smooth Glass Dragons' transparent glass body until it eventually disappears. Internal organs cannot be seen and have not been found. It moves slowly, and may shatter if the minerals it ate as a hatch resulted in a brittle glass body consistency. Its body may become larger and stronger over time as it eats or is fed certain minerals.

Story

Minerals to Grow

Every day, Smooth Glass Dragon looks for minerals to grow its body. One day, while flying over an ocean, a great wind blew and broke off one of Smooth Glass Dragon's wings. The wing fragmented and fell into the water, and the Smooth Glass Dragon fell into the water and sunk until it reached the bottom of the ocean. Smooth Glass Dragon could not see in the deep ocean, and could not reach the surface with one wing so it dug into the sand and went to sleep. A million years passed, and the Smooth Glass Dragon was woken by a bright light. It opened its eyes, and saw that its head was no longer completely buried in the sand. There was only a few feet of water above it now, and Smooth Glass Dragon could see the sky. Smooth Glass Dragon slowly moved out of the sand and lifted its head out of the water. Its head was heavier now. It turned its head to look at its back, and saw that a new wing had grown, one hundred times bigger than its first wing. It was now a larger dragon. It had absorbed minerals from the deep ocean, and was moved to the edge of a continent as tectonic plates moved. Smooth Glass Dragon opened its wings and flew into the sky, looking for a new desert to rest in. The fragments that had broken from Smooth Glass Dragon's wing and became rolled in the ocean and became Smooth Glass Dragon eggs.
