🥚Egg
This egg has magic crystals made of sunlight shining into the sea.

The red horns are not hard, but elastic. It protects itself by crystals mainly made of sunlight and seawater energy.

🦎Hatch
This hatch produces small amount of seawater.

It produces seawater and little sunlight by breaking down the crystals in its body. If it makes too much them, the crystals are reduced, which can make it sick. Because of that nature, it is very timid and defensive. Sufficient sun exposure can promote crystals growth.

🐊Hatchling
This hatchling manupulates more and more seawater.

The crystals are well-grown, but could be broken with a strong impact. Unlike when Hatch, It comes to be able to produce and manupulate more amount of seawater. It fights against enemies, but only not so much strong ones. The shorl where these hatchlings live is often sparkling bright, because of the abandoned broken crystals.

🐉Adult
It is a nudibranch Dragon called “the jewel of the sparkling sea.”

Gembranch produces large quantities of seawater at will, and pushes enemies away with its powerful ocean rapids. In contrast, it provides veils of water and sunlight to its mates and Eggs or Hatches, preventing enemies from approching.

It has curiosities about everything, especially things on land. They say that is because an Adult Gembranch has enough battle ability and no longer be frighten by something strange. When it feels interests in something, its red horns bounce and twitch like cat ears.

Story

The Value of Curiosity

One day, a woman with a large debt was staggering along the beach. Then she found something shiny between the rocks in the shoal, within reach.

“I wonder if it’s not an illusion…”

She checked again and again, but a beautiful crystal was indeed there!

“Thank God!”

She reached the fortune with joy. That moment, the sea suddenly roared and a bombardment of seawater hit her.

“How terrible!”

Her hair was all wet and she thought she was going to drawn.

“YOU ARE the terrible one!”

A voice came from the shoal, and the owner of the crystal, a colourful dragon, appeared menacingly. What the woman saw was the tail of the sleeping Gembranch.

It glared her, but at once, it caught sight of a wet piece she holded.

“What is that? Not seaweed?”

The dragon’s horns twitched.

“This is a certificate of debt.”

Gembranch produced sunlight, dried wet paper and looked at it closely.

“What’s debt? There are so many letters on this!”

It wanted the certificate, and in return it would give one of its own broken crystals.

“No! Your gems are worther far more!”

Then it replied.

“I don’t care!  Only things which I want now are worth!”

Thus, the deal was done.

On her way to sell the crystal, she suddenly realised something.

“…What need is there to pay off a debt when there is no longer a certificate?”

From then on, she lived freely as a Gembranch.
