Greetings from Com2uS!

In our previous Dev Note, we introduced the updates planned for February and March. Today, we’d like to share details on the major update launching alongside the 2025 MLB season opening, as well as our future update goals.

Our team is working hard to ensure an exciting start to the season. In addition to the upcoming content updates, we’re preparing a variety of special events to celebrate Opening Day. We hope you’re looking forward to them!

[March 2025 Major Update & Future Update Goals]

* New Special Cards

- New Special Cards ((FA)Impact - (FA)Signature) for exceptional players from past seasons will be added.

* Season Opening Events

- Various events will be held to celebrate the start of the 2025 MLB season.

- Events will commemorate the Tokyo Series in Japan and provide opportunities to acquire cards featuring MLB RIVALS’ new cover athletes.

* Ranked Battle Tournament

- The new Ranked Battle Tournament will be introduced, allowing top-ranking users from the Universe Ranking season to compete in a tournament.

- Matches will follow a best-of-seven format, with winners advancing to the next stage until a final champion is determined.

- The tournament will use the same simulation-based gameplay as Ranked Battle.

- Rewards will be distributed based on tournament results. 

* The Universe Ranking season cycle may be adjusted following the addition of the Ranked Battle Tournament. 

* This will be the first tournament content, and future updates will introduce more gameplay modes and conditions to allow broader participation.

* RIVAL PICK System Improvements

- Special benefits will be added to Live Cards selected for RIVAL PICK.

- These cards will contribute to both the Team Deck Score and the Special Deck Score and also gain the same effects as Special Cards.

- Next month’s RIVAL PICK criteria will be shared in advance.

- The system will be adjusted to prevent teams from having the same player as consecutive RIVAL PICK selections, ensuring greater diversity.

- We hope these improvements will highlight standout players from the 2025 season and make them key additions to your lineup.

* Batting Balance Adjustments for Lower OVR Ranges

- In lower OVR ranges, pitchers currently have a noticeable advantage when facing similar OVR batters.

- This has led to reduced enjoyment for new users, making batting feel less appealing.

- The balance adjustments will mainly affect the OVR 60–80 range to improve the batting experience.

- Minor adjustments may also be applied to the OVR 90–100 range, but the impact will be less noticeable.

- These changes aim to create a more enjoyable gameplay experience without disrupting overall team balance.

* Moment Card Acquisition Event

- We’re preparing exclusive Moment Cards for all users to celebrate the new season.

- These Moment Cards will initially be available only through special events.

- Additional acquisition methods may be introduced after the event period ends.

* Ambassador System Improvements

- The Ambassador System, introduced in January, allows users to utilize unused player cards.

- An upgrade feature for Special Contribution Boxes will be added due to the expected increase in lineup changes due to new Moment Cards and expanded acquisition methods.

- When the number of registered cards and their growth levels exceed a certain threshold, the boxes will upgrade to higher tiers, offering better rewards.

* Ultimate Coin Burning Event

- A limited-time event will increase Ultimate Coin acquisition and the weekly cap in League Mode.

- Additional missions will provide opportunities to earn even more coins.

- We hope this will help users boost their desired cards.

* Additional Quality of Life, UI, and Reward Improvements

- The Rarity Boost UI will be improved, making it easier to check Ultimate Coin requirements for different card rarities.

- Development Transfer between identical players' Moment Cards will be enabled.

- UI improvements will allow easier comparison of information, including skills, when adjusting your Fielding Positions and Batting Order within the Lineup.

- A new feature that automatically selects the optimal Deck Score will be added for new users.

- Weekly objective adjustments and additional rewards will be available to support new users in Ranked Slugger mode.

- UI improvements will be made for tracking mission progress and quick access to Play Mission and various events.

- Daily rewards for Ranked Battle and weekly rewards for Live Match will be added.

- Indicators will highlight significant OVR differences in League, Battle, and Live Match lineups.

- Position Training materials will be selectable when using the Register All feature.

- Detailed information on sold-out items in the Shop will remain viewable.

- A function to view all current events and notice banners at the top of the main lobby will be available.

- 2025 season title screens, icons, and stadium names will be updated.

* New League Mode Difficulty (to be updated in April)

- A new League Mode difficulty tier, tentatively named World Champion 1–3, will be introduced.

- Higher league difficulties will offer more valuable rewards to support team development.

* Others

- A Special Scout will be held during the regular season.

- The new Athletics’ stadium, Sutter Health Partk, will be added, and other stadiums will be updated.

- Some 3D spectators will now wear home or away team jerseys.

- Memory and 3D spectator optimizations will improve overall stability.

- Players’ facial expressions will be animated when batting or pitching (gradually applied to select players).

- A new bonus effect system is under development for teams utilizing various Special Cards.
