MLB RIVALS Dev Note #6
Thank you to all users who support MLB RIVALS.
Our team is doing our best to draft plans to add new content, improve existing features, and develop the game accordingly.
In the first half of 2024, MLB RIVALS conducted the following updates:
- Added Rival Series Mode, Rival Pick, new crafting recipes (including one for the Team Selective Triple Signature Pack), Guide Mission 2, Campaign Mode, '23 special cards, and player cards of retired players
- Improved Ranked Battle and UI/UX
We appreciate all the feedback you have given us throughout previous updates.
However, we were unable to implement the Club Battle renewal, the new progression system, and the deck score expansion mentioned in the February dev note because we needed to flesh out more details.
This dev note will cover these subjects along with other major updates planned for the year.
[Next Updates]
1. New Progression System
- The new progression system will boost the lineup as a team rather than individual players.
- It will allow you to use relatively unused player cards and items as materials. We are also working on improving the QoL to avoid dull repetition.
2. Potential Game Event System
- We are preparing a Potential Event that will boost the daily bonus rate for Potential Notes and Points obtainable in Potential Games from the current 30% to 50% during a specific period each month.
- During this period, a special event shop will be open to further facilitate the progress of player cards' Potential.
3. Various QoL Improvements
- The animation for consecutive upgrades will be improved, allowing you to view the final upgrade result more conveniently.
- The weekly achievement goal for Ranked Slugger will be more distinguishable.
- The check-in UX and rewards for new and returning users will be improved.
- A runner camera will be added, allowing you to spectate baserunning situations more dynamically.
- Other various QoL and in-game improvements will be implemented.
[Future Updates]
1. Deck Score Effect Expansion (3rd Quarter 2024)
- The update last September increased the deck score of special cards, and in February, we introduced our plans to expand the deck score effect.
- We are carefully reviewing this expansion as it relates to many other aspects of the game. The ceiling for deck scores will be raised in the third quarter, and new effects will be added accordingly.
2. New Card System (3rd Quarter 2024)
- We concluded that it is time to introduce new cards, allowing users to create new rosters and strengthen their teams.
- This set of new cards will be a variation of the existing Impact, Prime, and Signature Cards and will be compatible with all 30 MLB teams.
- The performance of the new cards will be slightly lower than that of the existing special cards. We expect the new cards to strengthen weak spots in teams and offer various roster options without diminishing the value of existing cards.
- You will only be able to possess a certain quantity of the new cards to maintain your team color.
- Using a new item on the existing special cards will convert them to a new card of the same player. The items used in the conversion will be provided via various events, and there will be other ways to obtain the new cards besides converting existing special cards.
- After the new card system is released, we plan to introduce related content, such as a feature that allows changing the obtained new cards to those of different players.
3. 1st Anniversary Player Acquisition Event (July 2024)
- Various events offering entertainment and direct support are being prepared to celebrate MLB RIVALS' first anniversary. More details on the Player Acquisition Event will be provided in a separate notice towards the end of June.
- Also, stay tuned for events related to the MLB All-Star Game.
4. Miscellaneous (Future Plans)
- We plan to lower the difficulty of various event missions for users who prefer to play the game manually. This will not affect the experience of users who prefer auto-play.
- Various systems will be introduced and improved to help new users settle into the game more easily.
- The tier for RBI Battle will be expanded, and the overall reward quality for RBI Battle will be improved.
- A new system that conveniently sorts unused player cards to be utilized as materials in the Workshop will be added.
- We are continuously monitoring the differences in progression speed and preferences among global users. We plan to renew Club Battle based on this data at an appropriate time. Please look forward to Club Battles that encourage stronger bonds among clubmates.
Please understand that the details and schedules for the aforementioned plans are subject to change based on development progress.
We will do our best to provide more entertaining events and updates for the remainder of the year.
Thank you.
