MLB 9 INNINGS RIVALS 26 Dev Note #24

Greetings from Com2uS!

The 2026 season is already halfway through, filled with intense matchups and standout performances from players across the league.

As we approach the All-Star games, where the stars of the first half gather in one place, our team is continuing to work hard to make MLB 9 INNINGS RIVALS 26 even more enjoyable for all users.

In this Dev Note, we’d like to share a preview of the major updates we’re currently preparing to introduce during Q3 and the second half of 2026.

[Planned Updates for Q3 and the Second Half of 2026]

■ Card Combination System

[Overview]

- A new system will be added that allows you to combine 3 unused player cards to obtain 1 new player card.

- Currently, the Workshop allows you to craft items such as Moment Cards, Team Selective Signature Packs, and Position Selective FA Signature Packs by using unused player cards, Advanced Crafting Tickets, Content Coins, and Points. However, the number of times these items can be crafted is limited, some recipes can feel too costly, and there has been room for improvement in the overall user experience.

- In addition, extra Live/Season Cards have mainly been used by converting them into crafting materials or releasing them for Points, with no direct opportunity to reroll them into different Live/Season Cards.

- To address this, we’re preparing to introduce the Card Combination System, which will offer simplified material requirements, the excitement of rerolling, and even monthly free chances.

[Card Combination Basics]

- The Card Combination System uses a total of 3 player cards as materials. After combining them, 5 result cards will appear. Once you review those cards, they will switch to a blind state, and you’ll choose 1 of them as your final reward.

- At launch, Moment Cards and Live/Season Cards can be used as materials. Depending on the rarity and grade of the materials used, you’ll be able to obtain either Moment Cards or Live/Season Cards. (We also plan to expand the system later so Signature Cards can be used in Card Combination.)

- For Live/Season Cards, cards of all grades—S, A, B, and C—can be used as materials.

- The higher the grades of the cards used, the higher the chances of obtaining higher-grade results. For example, if you use 3 S-grade Live/Season Cards, the result will be a Live/Season S-grade Card with a 98.5% chance, or a Moment Card with a 1.5% chance.

- If you use 1 Moment Card and 2 Live/Season Cards as materials, the result will be a Moment Card with a 34% chance, or a Live/Season S-grade Card with a 66% chance. If you use 3 Moment Cards as materials, you will obtain a Moment Card with a 100% chance.

- If you use at least 1 Moment Card as material, either a Moment Card or a Supreme Moment Card can appear. If you use 3 Moment Cards as materials, only cards of Moment rarity or higher (Moment or Moment Supreme) will appear.

* Please check below for more details on Moment Supreme Cards.

- As mentioned above, the system prepares 5 result cards for each combination. These 5 cards are determined through 5 separate independent rolls based on the probabilities associated with the materials used. If all 5 cards are determined to be Live/Season Cards, one of the 5 cards will be randomly selected and awarded immediately.

- If 1 or more of the 5 result cards is a Moment Card or Supreme Moment Card, you’ll be able to review each card first. After that, the cards will switch to a blind state and be shuffled randomly. You’ll then select 1 of them as your final reward.

- When a Moment Card appears as a result of Card Combination, there will be a certain chance for a Moment Supreme Card to appear. More details on Moment Supreme Cards will be shared below.

* If you combine 3 Moment Supreme Cards as materials, you are guaranteed to obtain a Moment Supreme Card.

(* Even if more standard Moment Cards are added in the future, the appearance rate of Moment Supreme Cards will not be reduced.)

[New Items and Free Chances]

- You do not have to use 3 Moment Cards to guarantee a Moment Card or Moment Supreme Card Instead, you can use 1 Moment Card, 2 Live/Season Cards, and 1 Guaranteed Moment item.

- By default, cards from all 30 teams can appear randomly in Card Combination. However, if you use a Team/Division/League Select Ticket, only cards within the selected Team, Division, or League will appear randomly.

- All users will receive 1 free monthly chance to use the Guaranteed Moment effect.

- We are also preparing to offer opportunities to obtain Moment Guarantee Ticket and Team/Division/League Select Ticket items through various events.

* Even after the Card Combination System update, the Workshop recipe that allows you to craft a Team Selective Moment Pack once per month using 5 Moment Cards (regardless of Team/Emblem) will remain available.

 ■ Moment Supreme Cards

[Card Acquisition and Features]

- Moment Supreme Cards can be obtained through the new Card Combination system described above.

- In addition, Combination Points accumulated through the use of items in the Card Combination System will be used in the Point Combination system, which is being designed so that even with very poor luck, users will eventually be able to obtain their desired Wish Moment Supreme Card.

- Moment Supreme Cards basically share most growth systems and costs with standard Moment Cards.

- Upgrade / Training / Limit Break / Special Training / Transcendence growth costs will be the same.

- The maximum Training Level may be higher than that of existing Moment Cards.

- For Transcendence growth, both Moment Supreme Cards and standard Moment Cards can be used as materials.

- Moment Supreme Cards will receive the same benefits as standard Moment Cards in events such as the Limit Break Event, Upgrade Event, and International Training Event.

- In Lineup Synergy, Moment Supreme Cards are compatible with Moment Cards, and each Moment Supreme Card counts as 2. (However, there will be a limit on the maximum number of Moment Supreme Cards that can be used in a lineup.)

- Moment Supreme Cards do not have exclusive Moment Skills and can obtain all Moment Tier Skills.

- By using a Superior Skill Change Ticket, you can obtain a Moment Skill in the 1st Skill Slot. When a Moment Skill is obtained, the 1st Skill Slot Lock feature will also be available.

- Since all Moment Tier Skills can be obtained, there will be some differences from standard Moment Cards when changing Skills. We’ll share more details on this through a separate notice later.

- When using a Superior Skill Change Ticket, a Moment Skill will appear in the 1st Skill Slot with a 100% chance.

(The details above have been revised during the development process.) [Updated on Jul.22, 4:30 AM EDT]

- When performing Development Transfer from a standard Moment Card to a Moment Supreme Card, the transferred card’s Moment Skill and Skill Lock status can be carried over, regardless of whether the Moment Supreme Card currently has a Moment Skill in the 1st slot or whether its lock feature is active.

[Moment Supreme Themes]

We are preparing a variety of themes to launch alongside Moment Supreme Cards.

<First Spurt>

: Features players who lit up the league with dominant performances right from the start of the season.

<Summer Monster>

: Features players who dominated the league during the hot summer stretch with overwhelming performances.

<Slow Starter>

: Features players who did not stand out early in the season, but gradually found their rhythm and delivered outstanding performances.

<October Legend>

: Features players who showed overwhelming presence in the Postseason, when the stakes were highest.

We are also preparing various additional themes so that users can meet memorable players who left a lasting impression.

[Others]

- If you obtain a Moment Supreme Card that is not from your Preferred Team or is not your Wish Card, we are preparing systems so that registering it in the Ambassador content will provide added effects, and so it can also be used in various ways such as material use in the Locker Room.

■ Uniform Craft

- In addition to the default uniforms already provided, you’ll soon be able to obtain and use new uniforms.

- A Uniform tab will be added to the Locker Room menu, where you’ll first be able to craft items such as the All-Star uniforms.

- Like Emote Craft in the existing Locker Room, uniforms can be crafted by using various materials, and completing an uniform craft will grant Locker Room Points.

- Once crafted, these uniforms can be seen on players in the Main Lobby and in special game modes such as Live Match, RBI Battle, Ranked Slugger, and Tiebreaker Ace Showdown.

* Since this content is aimed at users in later stages who have many extra high-rarity player cards and resources, we recommend that newcomers prioritize lineup growth over Uniform Craft.

* Materials used for Uniform Craft are managed separately based on your Preferred Team.

(For example: if you invest materials into the current Preferred Team’s uniform and then change to a different team, the materials will reset. If you later return to the original Preferred Team, the previously invested materials will still be preserved.)

■ New Ultimate Duo 9 Innings Event

- A new single-player event will be added, similar to the Tiebreaker Ace Showdown event, where you build a roster with 1 batter and 1 pitcher and play under 9-inning rules.

- Your strongest batter will handle every batting order slot and all fielding positions, while your strongest pitcher will handle every pitching role. We are preparing this so users can enjoy unusual fun such as Catcher Jung Hoo Lee / Shortstop Jung Hoo Lee, or Setup Yoshinobu Yamamoto / Closer Yoshinobu Yamamoto, while also earning various rewards.

* If a player is used outside their defensive position or pitcher role, stat penalties will apply. However, players who meet certain event-specific conditions may receive boost effects.

Division Ranked Tournament

- We are currently preparing a Division Ranked Tournament, where users playing with teams from the same division compete against one another.

- While the overall scale will be larger than the existing Ranked Battle Tournament, which currently includes 1,024 users, each of the six divisions will begin with somewhat fewer than 1,024 users. We plan to gradually expand the number of participants.

■ All-Star Events

- To celebrate the MLB All-Star Game on July 14 local time, when the league’s best players gather in Philadelphia, we are preparing a variety of events and content so users can experience those special moments in MLB 9 INNINGS RIVALS as well.

- Through events such as the All-Star Selective Reward Event and the Ranked Slugger World Championship, you’ll be able to obtain various rewards including FA Signature/Prime Packs featuring All-Star players and Limit Break Cards.

* Event ranking rewards may additionally include up to an NL/AL All-Star FA Player Selective Signature Pack. You can also obtain an All-Star FA Signature Pack by spending Stars.

■ Skill Change Event Improvements and More

- As player cards of various rarities continue to be added, we believe the current Skill Change Event—where only up to Gold Skills can appear—has become somewhat less effective, so we are preparing an improved version of it.

- Not only the Skill Change Event, but also other events and game modes will continue to be improved, and new events will continue to be added so that users can enjoy MLB 9 INNINGS RIVALS even more.

■ Other

- The UI for the initial player rewards during Team creation will be improved.

- Postseason Pick ’em will be improved.

- In Club Battle, additional rewards will be added when playing through Pick Up Play.

- To help newcomers settle into MLB 9 INNINGS RIVALS more smoothly, we will continue improving the early progression flow, including a new tutorial that helps users equip the HOF player obtained through the HOF Player Acquisition Event into their lineup.

- Improvements will also be made to Signature Black menus, including the addition of help guides in each menu.

That wraps up today’s Dev Note. Please understand that some details and update schedules may shift slightly depending on development progress.

In addition to what we shared above, we are preparing a variety of other updates. For features that progress quickly through planning and development, we will aim to deliver them right away through updates.

Thank you.
