MLB RIVALS Dev Note #15

Greetings from Com2uS!
We’d like to thank you all for your continued love and passion for MLB RIVALS.
We're preparing a variety of content in hopes that you’ll enjoy the rich and storied legacy of Major League Baseball—spanning over a century—in a more engaging and meaningful way.
In this Dev Note, we’ll introduce the Hall of Fame system, which features legendary players who helped shape MLB history. We'll also provide details on upcoming versions and Live updates.
Please note that all update schedules, balances, and features are subject to change.
[Beyond Legendary – The Hall of Fame Arrives]
- Like its name, the Hall of Fame (HOF) Cards are dedicated to players who left their mark in MLB history—inducted legends whose accomplishments, passion, and unforgettable moments live on.
- We’re carefully crafting the Hall of Fame Cards to honor these iconic players.
- You’ll also find a special reward prepared to celebrate the launch, and consistent gameplay will allow you to acquire these legendary cards.
■ Hall of Fame Card Overview
- HOF Cards will reflect the prestige of their players with high growth potential and exclusive tier skills.
- Each card will not be tied to a specific year.
- All HOF Cards will grant both Team Deck and Special Deck Scores regardless of team.
- There will be a maximum limit of HOF Cards that can be placed in your lineup.
(If a HOF Card matches your preferred team, you will be able to include one extra.)
- The base team of each HOF Card is set to the player’s Primary Team when inducted into the Hall of Fame.
- A “Team Switching” feature will be available for players with significant impact across multiple teams, allowing for more flexibility.
- HOF Cards will not be available for FA Contracts and will not support Rarity Boosts.
■ Hall of Fame Card Acquisition
- We’re preparing new content that allows all users to acquire HOF Cards through consistent gameplay.
- Earn HOF Coins (tentative), Ultimate Coins, and Player Cards to unlock additional HOF Cards through the new content.
- HOF Coins can be earned based on player performance in higher League Mode difficulties and various events.
- HOF Card Packs and growth materials will also be available through related in-app purchases.
- A commemorative HOF Card will be gifted to all users as part of the launch celebration.
■ HOF Card Development
- HOF Cards are high-tier cards that reflect the prestige of the players they represent and come with a growth system worthy of their legacy.
- HOF Cards will require a higher minimum OVR for materials during Upgrade.
- Both the required Training EXP and the MAX Training Boost levels will be higher than those of existing cards.
- Limit Break will be able to level up by using duplicate HOF Cards or Limit Break EXP material.
- Special Training will increase their Deck Score and selected stats. Random stats bonuses will be added at each level.
- Exclusive HOF Tier Skills will be available through all Skill Change Tickets, though appearance rates may vary.
* HOF Tier Skills will not appear from Position Training level bonuses.
- Like other player cards, Skill Level Protection Tickets can be used to protect the skill level.
- Transcendence can be increased by 1 level using any HOF Card of the same position, regardless of team. If the card is of the same player, it will be increased by 3 levels. (At Transcendence Lv. 9, the first skill will gain +1 level as a bonus effect.)
- The Potential of HOF Cards can be expanded up to 15 levels, and unlike existing cards, some of the five Potential slots may include new effects.
- Development Transfer will only be available between identical HOF Players.
- More details on development will be provided in future notices.
[Build and Live Update Preview]
■ Live/Season Card Development Transfer System Improvements
- To improve the usability of Live/Season Cards across features like Rival Pick, Rival Series, Ambassador, and Lineup Synergy, Development Transfers for Live/Season Cards will no longer require the Normal Development Transfer Ticket.
* Any Normal Development Transfer Tickets in your possession at the time of the update will be converted into Special Development Transfer Tickets at a fixed ratio.
- The Special Development Transfer Ticket will be renamed “Development Transfer Ticket.”
■ Special Card Development Transfer System Improvements
- To expand the usability of Special and Moment Cards, the Development Transfer system will be improved.
- When the Transfer Card is an (FA) Impact, (FA) Prime, or (FA) Signature Card, the unlocked Potential slots will now be transferred to the Target Card. (However, upgraded Potential levels will reset, and any values exceeding the unlock cap will be discarded.)
: The original purpose of the Development Transfer system was to allow some of the development progress from an existing card to be passed on to a higher-rarity version of the same player, improving the practical value of newly acquired cards.
: Initially, Potential unlocks were tied to the Limit Break level and structured into five stages. Therefore, to account for differences in Limit Break caps across rarities, the system was designed to reset Potential during transfers.
: Later updates changed this to unlock all Potential slots at Upgrade Lv. 10. However, without resetting, transferring from a higher-rarity card could result in unlocked Potentials even at lower Upgrade levels, leading to inconsistencies.
: Despite this, we’ve determined that allowing Potential slot transfers—even as an exception—is more beneficial for player utility, and we’re proceeding with this improvement.
- Moment Cards will now allow one of the skill sets from the Transfer Card or Target Card to be chosen during transfer.
: If the Transfer Card (a Moment Card) has Skill Lock enabled, that lock status will be retained on the Target Card.
: If both cards support the same Moment Tier Skill, the full skill set from the Transfer Card can be carried over.
: If they support different Moment Tier Skills, the second and third skills can still be transferred, but the Transfer Card’s Moment Tier Skill will be replaced by a random Gold Tier Skill.
■ New Feature: Same Position Development Transfer System
- The Same Position Development Transfer system will function similarly to the standard Development Transfer but allow transfers between players who share the same position.
- This system is designed to help you quickly replace an existing card in your lineup with a better-performing player of the same rarity and position (including sub-positions).
- Targeted toward relatively higher OVR users, this feature will require more Development Transfer Tickets (formerly known as Special Development Transfer Tickets) and higher resource costs than the standard transfer system.
- Unlike the original system, this will not require the same player name. Instead, the conditions will be:
a. The players must have matching positions
b. The cards must be of the same rarity
c. Team affiliation does not matter
* The Same Position Development Transfer also applies to cards with matching sub-positions.
* Impact/Prime/Signature and FA Impact/FA Prime/FA Signature Cards are classified as different rarities.
- The higher Upgrade Level between the Transfer Card and the Target Card will be applied.
- Additional Potential unlock slots from the Transfer Card will be transferred. (However, leveled-up Potentials will be reset.)
- You may choose which skill set to transfer from either the Transfer Card or the Target Card.
- Moment Cards will also support this skill set transfer feature, with identical rules outlined in the updated Development Transfer system details above.
- All other mechanics—such as Limit Break and Special Training—follow the same rules as the existing transfer system. Since the rarity remains the same, Transcendence Level will also carry over.
* The Transfer Card will be consumed after completing a Same Position Development Transfer.
■ New Item: Superior Potential Reset Ticket
- A new item tier will be added above the Advanced Potential Reset Ticket.
- In addition to allowing pre/post comparisons, this item will guarantee that 1 out of 5 Potentials will reset to at least Lv. 8.
- This will apply to (FA) Impact, (FA) Prime, (FA) Signature, and Moment Cards.
- For HOF Cards, it will guarantee at least Lv. 11 Potential on one of the reset options.
- You’ll be able to obtain this item through special commemorative Event Games and more.
■ Other Updates & Improvements
- More Goal Achievement Events will be added in future updates.
- Live Support Event content will continue to be refreshed.
- Unlock League Difficulty Event 2 is on the way.
- A 7-Day Star Acquisition Event will be added to help new users settle in (existing users can also participate).
- Loading screen tips and info will be updated.
- The Rarity Boost UI will be improved and moved from the Manage Team tab to the Manage tab, with quicker access via mini pop-ups in the Lineup and Player Reserve.
- Various other Quality of Life improvements are also planned.
That wraps up today's Dev Note.
We’ll share more about future build updates and content in the next Dev Note.
Please note that certain details and timelines may change depending on the progress of our development.
As always, we deeply appreciate your passion and support for MLB RIVALS and remain committed to delivering even more exciting content and events in the future.
Thank you.
