MLB RIVALS Dev Note #14

Greetings from Com2uS!
This March marks the beginning of our second season since launch, and to show our appreciation for your love and passion for MLB RIVALS, we’ve delivered a packed update. This includes the addition of global cover athlete Bryce Harper, the introduction of legendary players from past seasons, and the new Synergy Effect to help you build even more dynamic lineups.
Our development team remains committed to improving your gameplay experience—whether you’re a new or returning manager—by continually improving early progression flow, in-game play, core content, growth systems, and event rewards.
Today, we’d like to share details about upcoming version updates and Live updates.
Please note that the schedule, balance, and content may be subject to change.
■ League Mode High-Difficulty Expansion & Season Completion Reward Revamp
- A new “World Champion” difficulty will be added for users who have conquered the Champion difficulty (in April).
- This new difficulty tier will offer reward boxes containing high-value items (in April and May).
We’re also reworking Season Completion Rewards to eliminate the hassle of converting reward cards into materials in the Workshop and to provide more helpful rewards that support growth and progression (in May).
■ League Heat-Up Event System
- A new League Heat-Up Event will be introduced to support Ultimate Coin acquisition.
- The amount of Ultimate Coins earned per League season, and the weekly coin cap will increase during the event.
- Additional challenge missions will be available, and you can earn extra rewards based on your players’ records in League mode seasons.
- Enjoy strategic elements like pitching rotation and Deck Score effect changes while monitoring League performance by difficulty.
- The Ultimate Coin Shop will be added with useful items to support lineup development.
- A Moment Player Pack will also be available in the Ultimate Shop, allowing you to earn a Moment Card by consistently playing League Mode.
■ Clubhouse Leader System
- Choose one player from your roster as Clubhouse Leader, who will appear in the main lobby.
- Use player cards and items to level up the Clubhouse Leader system and gain stat buffs.
- Buff levels will remain even if you switch leaders.
* The feature will unlock after reaching a specific League difficulty.
* Leaders can be changed after a cooldown period.
■ Triple/Double Pack Hold Feature
- When opening Triple/Double Player Packs, you can now hold your selection to review your lineup or the Player Index before making a final choice.
* You cannot open other packs while a selection is on hold.
■ Ranked Slugger System & Reward Rework
- We understand that the current 20,000,000-point season goal is difficult for new users.
- The system will be reworked so that users can achieve season goals according to the development level of their players.
- Weekly score targets will be lowered from the current 20,000,000, making it easier to earn the same rewards.
- New goal tiers will be added for higher levels, and each tier will unlock when you reach a required score (best record) in a single run, allowing you to earn greater rewards.
- New rewards will include Skill Level Protection Tickets, Quick Play Tickets, and more items to support growth.
■ Gameplay Optimization & New Features
- The Quick Play speed in League mode will be improved.
- Fielder AI will be improved in specific situations.
- The hitting balance for lower OVR ranges, as previously mentioned in a previous Dev Note, will be improved. This overall balance adjustment aims to boost the fun of gameplay without affecting fairness between teams.
■ UI and Quality of Life Improvements
- A Collect All button will be added to event missions to collect rewards and tokens in bulk.
- The Potential Unlock/Reset UI will be improved, allowing you to view max potential levels.
- Bulk registration UX for Position Training will be improved.
- Card crafting in the Workshop will be streamlined by removing the need to select material quantities first.
- Material cards and target players in development menus will be able to be filtered by position. Visibility for target player status will also be improved in all development menus.
- Rarity Boost will be moved to the Manage tab and become accessible from the lineup screen (May or later).
■ Other Updates
- The lobby background on mobile versions will now feature your preferred team's home stadium.
* This may be disabled on some devices due to heat or performance concerns.
- A new Auto Scout feature for consecutive scouts will be introduced.
- A new filter option to find specific teams in Ranked Battle World Rankings will be introduced.
- Visibility for Live Player stat changes, Rival Pick updates, and newly added cards will be improved.
- The Player Index will be updated to show FA Cards alongside others, and Moment Cards will be able to be filtered by emblem.
- Step 5 of the Expert Mission will be added (May or later).
- A new Skill-related event will launch (May or later).
- A Ranked Tournament victory animation will be added (May or later).
- A new Ranked Slugger event will be added (June or later).
- More players will be acquired through consistent gameplay.
: Moment Player Packs will be added to the Club Shop. (May or later)
That wraps up today’s Dev Note.
We ask for your understanding and patience that details and update timing may change depending on development progress.
