Emergency Maintenance Notice (Skill Rates and Measures)

There will be an emergency maintenance to fix an issue in the game.

■ Maintenance Schedule

First of all, we express our deepest apologies to all users who are supporting MLB RIVALS.
After the temporary maintenance on Apr. 21st 10:00 PM [EDT] conducted to prepare for the April update,
we received feedback from many users raising questions on the skill change rates.
We ran a thorough inspection of the issue as per the requests and would like to share the results.
1. Individual skill change rate
We confirmed from our internal review that certain skills were appearing at higher rates
than we had planned until the temporary maintenance on Apr. 21st.
Case 1) BATTING MACHINE (Grade S) skill had been appearing at 0.024390% until Apr. 21st 10:00 PM [EDT],
which is approximately 2.76 times higher than the rate intended and notified in the rate table (0.008823%).
Case 2) ACE (Grade S) skill had been appearing at 0.030000% until Apr. 21st 10:00 PM [EDT],
which is approximately 3.60 times higher than the rate intended and notified in the rate table (0.008333%).
Case 3) Skill appearance rate when Skill Grade Protection Ticket is used for changing Grade S skill
We were unaware of the difference in the applied rates and notified rates when the temporary maintenance began, but the code we implemented after improving it via a skill logic-related refactoring during the maintenance started applying the notified rates.
We failed to detect the discrepancy because our sample test results made us believe that the notified rates had been applied correctly.
Issues related to rates in games are very sensitive. However, we were unable to recognize the variables that may alter them. We sincerely apologize for taking extra time to inspect the issue entirely and acknowledge that our work tempo has not been satisfactory.
After many discussions, we concluded that it would be fitting to revert the skill change rate back to how it was being applied rather than adhering to the rates we had initially planned.
There will be an emergency maintenance that rolls back the rates that were changed during the Apr. 21st maintenance. All items that were used to change player skills since the Apr. 21st maintenance will be restored after their quantity and recipients are confirmed.
We also found out that the appearance rates of Grade D skills granted upon player card acquisition were different from the notified rates. These rates will be changed to correctly implement the notified rates during the emergency maintenance.
Full inspection of all other rates in the game, including Scouts and Card Packs was conducted, but no other issue was found.
We will establish a validation process that inspects all rates in the game more than once a month moving forward. We will do our best to ensure such issues never arise again and promise to provide better service.
As a small token of apology for our repeated letdowns,
Team Selective Signature Pack x1, Skill Change Ticket x50, and Skill Grade Protection Ticket x30 will be sent to all users.
※ After the emergency maintenance, the skill rate table will be updated to the actual values that were applied prior to the Apr. 21st maintenance.
